450th Bendlowes
Anniversary
December 2024 members and trustees of the Bendlowes trust celebrated the 450th anniversary of the creation of the trust by Sargent at Arms William Bendlowe who was a member of Lincoln’s Inn, he was involved in the Elizabeth 1 reign. His family home was in Great Bardfield following his death (1584) his will requested various trust be created, to support the poor in surrounding villages which included Shalford
Meet & Greet
Our main event is Meet & Greet which is held every first Friday of the month.
In addition, we organise outings and other functions throughout the year catering for both the minority and majority.

2020 COVID – Bendlowe’s Bugle
Covid19 brought our activities to an abrupt halt from March 2020 and the feedback we received was amazing with so many people missing their monthly Meet & Greet. Sorrow was also expressed at the fact that we had to cancel the outings we had arranged.

History of
William Bendlowe
1516 – 1584
William Bendlowe was born in 1516 and died 1584 at the age of 68. According to the Governing Document dated 11th May 1954, The Charity of William Bendlowe was founded by deed dated the 20th December 1573.
